The Brief: Full Office Clearance at Alderley Park
We were contacted by David Marshall of Redx Pharma, who explained the company was undergoing internal restructuring and required a full clearance of an office floor within Alderley Park. The task involved removing a large volume of office furniture and associated items, including:
- 80+ office desks
- Ergonomic chairs
- Metal filing cabinets
- Desk dividers
- Cupboards and storage units
Initially, the clearance was to be completed within a reasonable time window, allowing staff to continue working on-site until the agreed exit date.
Planning and Initial Site Visit
To ensure an efficient and disruption-free process, we conducted a detailed site visit to Alderley edge to view the location and confirm specific requirements with David and his colleague Hayley. Both were a pleasure to deal with and provided clear, concise expectations.
We noted that access to the floor was limited – located on the third floor of the building, with a single service lift and multiple stairwells. This meant the project would require careful timing, dismantling, floor protection, noise considerations, and tight coordination to avoid disrupting Redx staff and also other businesses who occupy the other offices still working on-site.
The Clearance Process: Logistical Complexity and Fast Turnaround
This wasn’t a simple load-and-go operation. Our experienced team had to dismantle over 80 office desks to allow safe and efficient loading into the building’s lift. Larger and more awkward items were taken down stairwells and through service corridors to reach our clearance vehicles.
Midway through the project, we received updated instructions: the landlord required the office floor back sooner than expected to carry out urgent remedial works. Redx staff had to relocate immediately, and our team was asked to accelerate the clearance timeline. The Redex staff all had to be relocated with the aim of speeding up the time to complete the clearance.
Thanks to our proactive approach, we were able to adapt instantly, scaling up our team and intensifying operations to meet the revised deadline—without compromising safety, quality, or professionalism.
The Result: A Clean, Empty Space Delivered Ahead of Schedule
We completed the entire office clearance ahead of the new, tighter deadline. Every item was removed, the floor was cleaned and left in excellent condition, and Redx were able to hand the space back to the landlord without issue.
